When you're professionally accustomed to the Apple world, it's hard to extricate yourself from it. We're not going to start the eternal Apple vs Windows debate on this subject, each world has its advantages and disadvantages.

Anyway, my work tool is an iMac 2019 icore5 6-core, with 40 Gb RAM. The problem with Macs is that they don't allow the use of nVidia graphics cards. And with DAZ 3D, rendering on CPU takes a hell of a long time. My only solution was to buy an eGPU, put an nVidia card in it, and render under Windows via Bootcamp.

Well, I have to say it was no piece of cake! Because Bootcamp had to be triturated, even tortured, to accept an eGPU. But after a day's struggle, it's done: I've got the bastard. And it works!
I did a rendering last night on this configuration and it took me 11 minutes rather than 2h30.
This is just an example, as not all renderings are equivalent, but it shows you the progress!

I have to admit that it's given me a boost, as I feel that the slowness and waiting were starting to get on my nerves!
As far as I'm concerned, game development is like a meal: the longer it goes on, the fuller I get.
If development lasts too long, it pisses me off. I just can't help it!
